Craig on Morality

William Lane Craig basically gets paid to go around and defend Christianity against arguments that undermine its principal doctrines. He's smart and well-educated, and basically has being doing this for many, many years, so he is a formidable opponent in debate.

Some recent Veritas Forum debates about morality involving Craig caught my attention. After mentioning my friend Wes' facebook notes on atheistic metaethics and the wonderful paper that completely destroys the theistic "response" to the Euthyphro Dilemma that claims God's nature "grounds" morality, I wanted to see how/if Craig had responded to these specific critiques of the Divine Command/Nature Theory of morality.

The three talks all have video available:
  1. Is God Necessary for Morality? (part 1): video
  2. Is God Necessary for Morality? (part 2): video
  3. Can we be good without God? video
The videos bring focus and clarity to the issue being argued: specifically, that God's nature in some way makes morality objective or justifies moral realism. I actually think you don't need God for that.
